Customer Case Study

Advanced Pattern Recognition (APR) identified abnormally high generator bearing temperatures on one of our client’s offshore wind turbines.

All other parameters, including a review of the online CMS data by the client’s in-house experts, confirmed no other anomalies.

Following the recommendation to confirm the correct operation of the auto-grease lubrication system, two issues were identified:

  1. Restricted supply of grease; pump & pipework replaced.
  2. Grease exhaust ports replaced with intended larger modified items.  Error in replacement generator configuration.

Early detection and rapid resolution minimised the repair costs and maximised the asset useful life.
